The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Super Speciality (NEET SS) is a highly competitive exam for doctors seeking admission into DM, MCh and DrNB Super Speciality courses across India. Conducted by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), it is the only recognised entrance exam for super-speciality medical courses in India.

Before applying, candidates must ensure they meet the eligibility criteria:  

  • Candidates must possess an MD, MS or DNB degree in an eligible feeder speciality.  
  • The cut-off date for PG qualification completion is 30th April 2026. 
  • Registration with the NMC or a State Medical Council is mandatory. 
  • Foreign nationals, including OCI cardholders, can apply without NMC registration but must obtain temporary registration during the course. 
  • Candidates already registered in a DM, MCh or DrNB program via NEET SS are not eligible to apply until completion.  

NEET SS 2026: Admit Card Process  

The NEET SS Admit card will be available for download from 22 Dec 2026. 

How to Download?  

  1. Visit https://natboard.edu.in
  1. Log in using the User ID and Password. 
  1. Click on Download Admit Card. 
  1. Print the admit card and affix a passport-size photograph. 

Documents Required on Exam Day  

  • Printed admit card with a recent photo. 
  • Original photo ID proof (PAN Card, Driving License, Voter ID, Passport, or Aadhaar). 
  • Permanent SMC or NMC Registration Certification (Photocopy). 

Candidates will not be allowed to enter the examination hall without these documents.

Updated Exam Pattern Updated

  • Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT)
  • Duration: 150 minutes
  • Total Questions: 150 MCQs
  • New Structure (from 2026 onwards): 3 time-bound sections of 50 questions each, with 50 minutes per section.
  • Marking Scheme: +4 marks for correct answers; –1 mark (25% of 4 marks) for incorrect answers; no negative marking for unattempted questions.

The test consists of questions from general and sub-speciality topics, covering 13 specialty groups.

Ans – Aim to take 5-7 full-length mock exams before the NEET SS 2026 exam date.
