{"id":7127,"date":"2022-10-14T13:00:40","date_gmt":"2022-10-14T13:00:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.diginerve.com\/?p=7127"},"modified":"2023-09-12T05:42:09","modified_gmt":"2023-09-12T05:42:09","slug":"nmc-issues-new-guidelines-and-academic-calendar-for-2022-2023-mbbs-batch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.diginerve.com\/blogs\/nmc-issues-new-guidelines-and-academic-calendar-for-2022-2023-mbbs-batch\/","title":{"rendered":"NMC issues New Guidelines and Academic Calendar for 2022-2023 MBBS Batch"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The National Medical Commission (Undergraduate Medical Education Board) has issued new guidelines and the academic calendar for MBBS 2022-2023 batch on 12th Oct 2022.<\/p>\n<p>As per the new NMC guidelines, the classes for the first-year MBBS batch will start on 15th Nov 2022.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Academic Calendar for the 2022-2023 MBBS Batch<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>According to the new NMC guidelines, there is a change in the academic calendar of MBBS 2022-2023. However, the duration of the MBBS course is the same i.e., 5.5 years including a one-year rotational internship.<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"table-responsive\">\n<table class=\"table table-bordered\">\n<thead>\n<tr>\n<td><b>Professional Year<\/b><\/td>\n<td><b>Time Frame<\/b><\/td>\n<td><b>Subjects<\/b><\/td>\n<td><b>Months(Teaching + Exam + Results)<\/b><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/thead>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>1st<\/td>\n<td>15th Nov\u201922 to 15th Dec\u201923<\/td>\n<td>Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry<\/td>\n<td>13 months<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>2nd<\/td>\n<td>16th Dec\u201923 to 15th Jan\u201925<\/td>\n<td>Pathology, Microbiology, and Pharmacology<\/td>\n<td>13 months<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>3rd (III-part-1)<\/td>\n<td>16th Jan\u201925 to 30th Nov\u201925<\/td>\n<td>Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, Community Medicine\/PSM<\/td>\n<td>10.5 months<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>4th (III-part-2)<\/td>\n<td>Dec\u201925 to May\u201927<\/td>\n<td>General Surgery, General Medicine, Pediatrics, Obstetrics &amp; Gynecology, ENT,<br \/>\nOphthalmology<\/td>\n<td>17.5 months<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Internship<\/td>\n<td>1st Jun\u201927 to 31st May\u201928<\/td>\n<td>As per the CRMI 2021 Regulations<\/td>\n<td>12 months<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>PG<\/td>\n<td>1st Jul \u201828<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n<p>For the academic year 2022-2023, the one-year compulsory rotational internship will start from the 1st June 2027 and end on 31st May 2028, as per the CRMI 2021 regulations.<\/p>\n<h3>The following guidelines have been issued by the NMC for the 2022-23 MBBS batch:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The MBBS batch will commence on 15th Nov 2022.<\/li>\n<li>The college vacations and examination schedules may be notified as per the affiliated universities of the respective colleges.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Other board guidelines are as follows:<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Regarding Electives \u2013 2 blocks of 15 days each are to be adjusted by the colleges for\n<ul>\n<li>Pre\/para-clinical branches<\/li>\n<li>Clinical branches<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>In the 2022-2023 academic batch, the supplementary exams will be conducted with a gap of 1 month from the regular exams and the results will be declared within 15 days.<\/li>\n<li>There shall be no supplementary MBBS batches.<\/li>\n<li>The remaining rules and regulations shall remain the same as per the GMER (Graduate Medical Education Regulations) 1997. You can visit the site for GMER 1997 details: https:\/\/www.nmc.org.in\/rules-regulations\/graduate-medical-education-regulations-1997\/<\/li>\n<li>The Yoga and Family Adoption Program through village outreach shall continue for the 2021-2022 MBBS Batch.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Along with the changes in the curriculum and the guidelines mentioned above, a few more notifications have been issued by the NMC from the 2022 batch:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The NMC has created an Anti-Ragging Committee and Dr. Aruna V.
